Late Goals Drop Northern Women's Soccer

MIDWEST CITY, Oklahoma -- Rose State scored three goals in the final eighteen minutes to upend the Mavericks 4-1 in Midwest City on Sunday.

The Raiders dominated most of the game, but were only able to score one goal in the first half.  The Mavs were able to even the game midway through the second half on a goal by Janet MorenoMilica Bulatovic had the assist.

It looked like the Mavs might get another goal or the game would end in a tie, but with eighteen minutes on the clock the Raiders were able to score the winning goal.  Rose State would add two more goals before the final whistle.

"The story is the same," said coach Michael Duroy.   "The girls are exhausted.  The schedule of three games every five days is tough on a thin roster.  Every team is going through the same thing so no one has an advantage.  We just need to enjoy the experience as much as possible, because it's going to be over soon.  I really want to shift the focus of the coaching staff, me in particular, away from results and more to the girls enjoying the games, practices, and travel that we have left together.  The results will take care of themselves.  We need to have fun and develop as players and as a team."
