Amber Brazendale led NOC Tonkawa with 12 points in a 73-61 loss to Cowley (KS) Monday night in Tonkawa.
Kyra Criss added 11 points for the Lady Mavs while Courtlyn Traxler added nine.
I thought we showed some improvement from the first game," said coach Greg Krasue. "Our perimeter decision making and shooting was more decisive. We reacted better on the boards. Right now we're working on improving every day."
Monday's game was close throughout as after Cowley built and early lead, the Lady Mavs rallied to take a 33-32 lead early in the 3rd quarter. Cowley then built the lead back to 45-35.
NOC fought back to 57-51 early in the 4th quarter but Cowley went on a 9-0 run to put the game away.
The Lady Mavs host Independence (KS) at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday.
