SHAWNEE, Okla. --  NOC Tonkawa dropped to the consolation bracket Thursday, losing to Eastern 3-2 at the NJCAA South Central District Tournament in Shawnee.

The Mavs (30-26) were set to face NEO later Thursday.

The Mavs trailed 2-0 until the 4th when NOC tied the Mountaineers at 2-2.

Caitlyn Cooper singled home Breeanna Gomez cutting the lead to 2-1 and then Brookly Ray singled home Riley Westmoreland and the game was tied.

Eastern regained the lead 3-2 in the 5th and hung on for the 3-2 win.

The Mavs had baserunners in the 6th and 7th but couldn't push the tying run across.

Kaidince Calvert worked a six-inning complete game allowing two earned runs on five hits striking out two.
