Mavs sweep Eastern in Region 2 play

RED ROCK, Okla. --  NOC Tonkawa picked up two big conference wins over Eastern Saturday at Frontier High School, 6-4 and 8-4.

The Mavs (28-18) improved to 5-11 in conference while Eastern (29-11) dropped to 8-6.

In Game 1, the Mavs scored six runs over the first three innings and held off Eastern 6-4.

Jadison Ackerman and Paiton Hedges had two hits each both recording doubles.  Ackerman had three runs batted in while Caitlin Cooper blasted her 7th home run of the year, driving in two runs.

Adisyn Peetoom (12-8) went the distance in the circle allowing two earned runs and striking out two.  

In Game 2, the Mavs jumped out to an 8-1 lead and cruised to an 8-4 win.

Lead-off hitter Riley Westmoreland had three hits for the Mavs while Hedges and Cooper had two hits each.  

Hedges added three runs batted in for the Mavs.

Kaidince Calvert (10-6) worked a complete game allowing one earned run on five hits.

Saturday's games were moved to Frontier due to wet grounds at NOC.

What's Next:  The Mavs host NEO on Saturday, April 25, at 2 p.m./4 p.m.  Saturday will be be sophomore night for the Mavs.
