Crowder College used an early goal and late goal to get by the Mavericks 2-0 in Neosho, MO Sunday. Crowder scored one minute and thirty seconds into the game off of header after the Mavericks did not push out of the box after a clearance. The game was played relatively evenly for the rest of the ninety minutes. Crowder would put the game away late after another poor clearance by Northern failed to leave the box and a Roughrider player shot the ball into the upper corner of the goal.
"So far every one of our games have looked about the same. We give up at least one soft goal per game and we haven't been able to finish our chances. We are 1-3 on the year with two of our losses coming to top twenty teams and the other was a bad loss in my opinion. The schedule has been challenging, especially for a young team. It has prepared us for the conference season, which starts Wednesday at Rose State. I feel like we really aren't far away from being a good team, but we have not been good in two key areas. We have to improve in those spots to be successful this year." Coach Michael DuRoy
