The NOC Mavs dropped an 88-87 heartbreaker to NOC Enid Thursday night at the Foster-Piper Fieldhouse.
The Mavs (14-12) fell to 4-8 in conference while NOC Enid (16-11) improved to 5-8.
The Mavs had a balanced offensive attack Thursday with Jarvis Palmer, Dorian Johnson, and MJ Miller all scoring 16 points.
Caison Cole added 14 while Xon Williams had 11. Johnson had 11 rebounds while Miller and Cole had five assists each.
Thursday's game had 21 lead changes including 13 after the game was tied at 67-67 with 5:35 remaining.
The Mavs led 84-83 with :48 left on a Jordan Awe conventional 3-point play. Miller then hit two free throws giving the Mavs an 86-83 lead with :37.1 remaining.
NOC Enid then cut the lead to 86-85 with Miller making one free throw extending the lead to 87-85 with :20.3.
After NOC Enid took an 88-87 lead, the Mavs had one final chance but Miller's short jumper was off the mark in the final seconds.
