GREAT BEND, Kansas --  NOC battled #17 Barton Saturday night in Game 2 of the Barton Booste Classic with NOC falling 65-60.

MJ Miller and Caison Cole led the Mavs with 15 each while Ryan Rodriguez added 13 and Jaydon Awe 11.

Dorian Johnson led the Mavs with eight rebounds while Miller had four assists.

"Barton is always a tough team, and their size got the best of us at times," said coach Brandon Gossett. "It's hard to win games where we give up 18 offensive rebounds, so that's an area of focus moving into this week. However, we showed signs of toughness, and had multiple chances to win that we just didn't capitalize on. Proud of our effort, but in order to become a great team we need to capitalize on opportunities and limit theirs. Another good weekend of growth before we head into a three game week."

Saturday's game was close throughout as Barton led 32-29 at half and outscored NOC 33-31 in the second half.

The Mavs (4-2) are at Allen (KS) on Nov. 18.
