Mavs hammer South Central Prep 117-82

NOC opened the 2025-26 season Saturday night blasting South Central Prep 117-82 at Foster-Piper Fieldhouse.

Caison Cole led five Mavs in double figures with 21.  Ryan Rodriguez added 18 while Xon Williams had 16.  Jaydon Awe and Ebi Bortey had 10 each.

Saturday's game was never in doubt as the Mavs raced out to a 24 point halftime lead.

"We got off to a little bit of a slow start but eventually got into our rhythm, especially on defense," said coach Brandon Gossett.  "The guys played really well together totaling 28 assists on 42 made baskets. We have a deep team and was able to get everyone some run in what was a large majority of our guys first college basketball game."  

Awe led the Mavs with seven rebounds while MJ Miller had seven assists and five steals.
 
NOC shot 60% from the floor and 47% from 3-point range.  The Mavs were 84% from the line (27-32).
 
The Mavs are at the UCO Classic Nov. 3-4 for games against Western (TX) and Ranger (TX).
