Mavs gain revenge over NOC Enid

ENID, Oklahoma --  Northern Oklahoma College Tonkawa gained some revenge over rival NOC Enid Sunday with a doubleheader sweep of the Jets at David Allen Memorial Ballpark.

NOC (34-9) improved to 5-3 in Region 2 play while the Jets (26-10) dropped to 6-2 in Region 2 play.

Mavs 4, NOC Enid 2

Sophomore Trevin Michael tossed a complete game and the Mavs rallied from 2-1 down in the 4th inning to win the first game 4-2.

Michael (5-1) allowed just five hits over seven innings striking out 11 NOC Enid hitters.

In the 4th inning, the Mavs trailed 2-1 with two outs when Kade Marlatt doubled and scored on an Eric Gutierrez single.  Gutierrez then scored on an error to give the Mavs a 3-2 lead.  Jaken Snider then doubled scoring Ashton Francis and the Mavs led 4-2.

Mavs 6, NOC Enid 0

Freshman Seth Martin tossed a two hit shut out and the Mavs peppered NOC Enid pitching for a 6-0 win Sunday.

Martin struck out five and walked one tossing the 104 pitch complete game.  No Jet base runner reached third base in Game 2.

Dominick Trevino, Cale Francis, Eric Gutierrez, and Luke Quick had two hits each for the Mavs, Francis had two runs batted in for NOC Tonkawa.

The Mavs scored in five separate innings.

The Jets won the first two games of the season series last Wednesday in Enid.
